what's the beef
'eigentext' is founded by and for software developers, content authors, designers and individuals who are interested in publishing on and off the net.

publishing
text can appear everywhere and in a lot of different ways. just use your imagination: you can chisel it out of highly structured code, or present it in a way that's syntactically correct; it can sound good; it might conjure up an image in your mind; you can use, misuse and misunderstand text, but it will always be the interface to communication, for both human and machine alike.

code and content
there can never be enough content and code around; there never will be - not if we talk about an open society.
neither do code and content stand in each other's way. actually, they are mutually dependent. something we've only fully understood just recently, through the texts of the free publishers at antville.org. it was them who convinced us that authors of code and content can go along together quite well. yet here is where our relationship with antville.org ends. we will still keep going with antville.org: we'll maintain the license and develop antville further, but eigentext wants to explore beyond the known blogged universe.

open source
we love being autonomists and we are strong believers in open source. this is what we've built our association on. the vision of an open culture makes sense to us. we want to build free and self-sufficiant publishing tools, which will only show their full potential if we manage both to programme and produce content at the same time. there are no borders to cross to reach this goal, except maybe time. we are not worried about "count maximum thread". quite the opposite: we have embedded it in our statutes with the bureaucrats' blessings.

set it free
we invite everyone to use eigentext's production means freely, to appreciate the spirit of open source. go on, exploit those texts!
